Der Tirolerkogel
The Tirolerkogel with its 1,377 m height is a very popular hiking mountain. The comfortable hiking tour from Annaberg up to the top of the mountain and back down again lasts 3 hours. The path is also easily managable for families. The view from the top is really nice and you can make a break at the Annaberg house, which is open the whole year - even in winter.
Natural park Ötscher-Tormäuer
Long hiking tours through the impressive chasms of the Ötscher rifts belong to the highlights of the natural park Ötscher-Tormäuer. The "Grand Canyon of Austria" - that's how the core piece of the biggest natural park of Lower Austria is called - impresses with its cliffy peak, wild rivers and fascinating flora.
Climbing tower and high wire climbing garden
The climbing tower at the entrance of the nature park "Ötschergräben" in Wienerbruck is open to beginners and professional climbers.
Ten routes on the outer and inner walls of the tower provide different degrees of difficulty and hours of thrill. Once you have climbed the climbing tower, you can go on to the high wire climbing garden, where skilfulness and balance are required. A ride with the "Flying Fox" definitely constitutes the highlight of your climbing adventure.
Horse riding
Courses and programmes for riders are offered the whole year.
Pilgrimage – Via Sacra
Pilgrimage along the Via Sacra has a very long tradition and was started by the monk Magnus from St. Lambrecht.
In the 12th century he set off with a statue of the Virgin Mary carved from the wood of a lime tree, in order to work as a pastor in the area which is now Mariazell.
The VIA SACRA is the oldest pilgrimage path of Austria, from Annaberg over the "Holy mountains" to Mariazell
